Aren Dragar is done with the Midlands. After fleeing to Argalan, he must curry favor with a foreign emperor to gain citizenship; but someone else has more sinister designs for him. Despite doing everything possible to prove he can be trusted, Aren does not expect the emperor's ultimate demand and what price it might cost him.

Argen's Shadow picks up Aren's story from the ending of The Rogue, throws him into more political intrigue, and segues this series into the next series coming very soon.
